INVITATION TO TENDER (ITT)

PROCURING ENTITY: KENYA ELECTRICITY GENERATING COMPANY PLC

CONTRACT NAME AND DESCRIPTION: TENDER FOR SUPPLY, INSTALLATION AND

COMMISSIONING OF SCADA WIDE AREA NETWORK & BACK UP CONTROL CENTER

HARDWARE FOR KENGEN HYDROELECTRIC POWER PLANTS

1. KenGen PLC invites sealed tenders from eligible candidates for the Tender for Supply, installation,

and Commissioning of SCADA Wide Area Network & Backup Control Centre Hardware for

KenGen Hydroelectric Power Plants whose specifications are detailed in the Tender Document.

2. Tendering will be conducted under open competitive method (Citizen Contractors) using a standardized

tender document. Tendering is open to all qualified and interested Tenderers.

The tender is specific to Citizen Contractors only

3. Qualified and interested tenderers may obtain further information and inspect the Tender Documents

during office hours between 8am and 5pm starting at the date of advert at the office of:

4. Tender documents may be viewed and downloaded for free from the website www.kengen.co.ke

tenderers who download the tender document must forward their particulars immediately to:

tenders@kengen.co.ke; Telephone 0711 036 000 and P.O. Box 47936-00100 to facilitate any further

clarification or addendum.

5. Bidders who are unable to download the tender documents from the website may collect them from any

KenGen Supply Chain Office upon payment of a non-refundable fee of KShs.1,000.00 paid via Mpesa,

pay bill no. 400200 and account no. 01120069076000, then share the MPesa message to KenGen

Finance office staff for receipt and issuance of official receipt or through a banker’s cheque and payable

to the address given below.

6. The Original Tender Security valid for 30 days beyond the tender validity period from a registered

bank by Central Bank of Kenya, Cash, guarantee by an Insurance Company registered

and licensed by the Insurance Regulatory Authority and Listed by the Public

Procurement Regulatory Authority or guarantee issued by a Financial Institution

approved and licensed by the Central Bank of Kenya of KShs.2,000,000.00 as part of the bid

document. All tender securities submitted shall be subject to authentication by KenGen.

Note: The ORIGINAL BID SECURITY MUST be clearly labelled the tender reference number and

dropped in the tender box located on Ground Floor at KenGen, RBS building on or before 1

st August

2023 at 2.00 P.m.

7. The Tenderer shall chronologically serialize all pages of the tender documents submitted. All documents

detailed in the tender data sheet MUST be submitted
