INVITATION TO TENDER PROCURING ENTITY: KENYA ELECTRICITY GENERATING COMPANY PLC

CONTRACT NAME AND DESCRIPTION: TENDER FOR DISTRIBUTED CONTROL SYSTEMS (DCS) UPGRADE FOR SONDU POWER STATION (KGN-SONDU-18-2023)

1.     KenGen Plc invites sealed tenders from eligible candidates for the Tender for Distributed Control Systems (DCS) Upgrade for Sondu Power Station whose specifications are detailed in the Tender Document.

2.     Tendering will be conducted under Open International Tendering method using a standardized tender document. Tendering is open to all qualified and interested Tenderers.

3.     Qualified and interested tenderers may obtain further information and inspect the Tender Documents during office hours between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. starting at the date of advert at the office of:

4.     The document can be viewed and downloaded for free from the website www.kengen.co.ke and/or on E-procurement https://eprocurement.kengen.co.ke:50001/irj/portal . Tenderers who download the tender document must forward their particulars immediately to (tenders@kengen.co.ke , 0711036000 and P.O.BOX 47936-00100 postal address) to facilitate any further clarification or addendum

5.     Bidders who are unable to download the tender documents from the website may collect them from any KenGen Supply Chain Office upon payment of a non-refundable fee of KShs.1,000.00 paid via MPesa, pay bill no. 400200 and account no. 01120069076000, then share the MPesa message to KenGen Finance office staff for receipt and issuance of official receipt or through a banker’s cheque and payable to the address given below.

6.     The Original Tender Security of KES KSh.1,500,000 valid for 30 days beyond the tender validity period from a registered bank by Central Bank of Kenya, Cash,guarantee by an Insurance Company registered and licensed by the Insurance Regulatory Authority and Listed by the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority or guarantee issued by a Financial Institution approved and licensed by the Central Bank of Kenya and MUST be submitted in a plain sealed envelope and clearly marked “KGN-SONDU-18-2023- TENDER FOR DISTRIBUTED CONTROL SYSTEMS (DCS) UPGRADE FOR SONDU POWER STATION’’ and addressed to:

General Manager-Supply Chain,

Kenya Electricity Generating Company PLC, Ground Floor, KenGen Pension Plaza I, Kolobot Road, Parklands,

P.O. Box 47936, 00100 NAIROBI.

The Original Tender Security clearly labeled should be dropped at the tender box located on Ground Floor at KenGen, RBS building on or before tender closing date.

Electronic tender securities are acceptable and shall be authenticated through the use of the QR scanner.

7.     The Tenderer shall chronologically serialize all pages of the tender documents submitted.

8.     There shall be a Mandatory Site Visit on 29th June, 2023 at 10.00 a.m at Sondu Power Station Starting at 10.00 a.m

Completed tenders must be delivered to the address below on or before 18th July, 2023 at 10.00 a.m. Electronic submission shall be permitted through our e-procurement platform found at www.kengen.co.ke (https://eprocurement.kengen.co.ke:50001/irj/portal.

9.     The Tenderer shall chronologically serialize all pages of the tender documents submitted.
